Unison Vineyard is a Family Estate at the heart of the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District in Hawkes Bay. It was established in 1993 and specialises in fine red wines.
Due to the consistency over the years in high quality fine wines Unison
Vineyard has been rated by Jancis Robinson (Concise Wine Companion) as one of
28 up-and-coming producers world wide “... whose success seems most obvious to
me at the beginning of the 21st century ...” – the only winery in NZ which has
received this accolade.
The people behind UNISON vineyard
Unison Vineyard is a Family Estate run by professional husband and wife team Philip and Terry Horn. Joining them are the boys, Luke and Oliver together with cats Olive and Pip and George the dog.
Also in the team are Jenny Dobson who is the Consultant Winemaker and Sean Lister the Vineyard and Winery Assistant

Philip has a BSc Hons in Biomedical Science and a Certificate in Winemaking and Grape Growing gained at EIT in Hawkes Bay. He built a successful career in retailing in the UK before moving in the the wine industry. Philip looks after the vineyard and winery side of things.
Terry has a degree in Business with Hotel & Catering Management. She also has a post graduate Diploma in HR Management. Her extensive HR career spans Retailing, Local and National Government sectors in the UK and NZ. Terry looks after the Retail side of things and keeps us all in order!
Jenny is responsible for the quality and direction of the wines. She started her long association with fine wines working for Jacques
Seysses at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy from 1979 to1981. She then moved to Paris
working with Stephen Spurrier at his L’Academie du Vin during 1981 and 1982.
Jenny spent the next 12 years in Bordeaux as Maitre de Chais at Chateau Senejac, a Cru Bourgeois in the Haut
Medoc. Leaving France in 1995, Jenny worked at Frankland Estate in the Great
Southern region of Western Australia before returning to New Zealand.She joined Te Awa Farm on the Gimblett Gravels as Winemaker in
1998 and continued working there until 2008.
Sean joined Unison in December 2008 on Graduating with a Certificate in
Winemaking and Grape Growing from EIT. His extensive experience means
he is able to work in all areas of the business.
